San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Francisco follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

They’re dry, all the donuts are dry (I tired many of the favors) 1/2 dozen assorted box, apple fritters, cake, twist, old fashion. Dry The apple fritter is overcook and dry and lacks any significant about of actual apple or apple flavor. I’d never had donuts from bobs but a local friend from SF assured me they’re the best. But… all the donuts are dry, they’re not moist at all. I tried them at the same time as my colleagues and I was a bit embarrassed to be honest. Definitely disappoint in the quality.

I have the crumb donut with custard filling. The custard was nice and creamy and abundant. The crumbs were tasty. The actual donut tasted a little bit old, but overall the whole thing was a nice little treat while on a long walk. They have very little seating which was taken up by a family. I noted that it would be really nice to have some tables outside of the shop. There seems to be some sidewalk space for it. I do wish they had some donuts that you could see from the outside because while you're waiting in line it would be nice to see what is available for the day or maybe they could make the door wider or something.

Let me preface that their staff are friendly and helpful! It’s the donuts that aren’t up to expectations. Disappointed the find that they have shrinkflated their Apple Fritter. It was about 2/3 the thickness and circumference that it has been for the past two years (at this location). Overall, I like their traditional cider donuts and ones that have less sugar. The rest of their donuts are just too sweet for me, and a bit too dense. Bob’s Donut does not compare to Stan’s Donut in Santa Clara, in size or loft. The other thing that I notice about their donuts is that they often have a weird aftertaste- wondering if they don’t change the oil in the fryers… I don’t recommend their Vegan apple fritter doesn’t taste right… and tends to be undercooked. Their staff is excellent because of it is undercooked, you can just show it to them and they’ll swap it. They are the only sweet shop in the area, so they don’t have competition.

Good enough donuts; it was a rainy day and my first time visiting. I was really excited to learn there was a donut shop in the area with a high rating. I picked a strawberry filled donut, two old fashioned donuts (maple and plane) and the “famous/popular” apple fritter (because it said famous/popular). The strawberry donut was semi-filled with jam, nothing special but my son liked it, and the old fashioned donuts were tasty. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed by the apple fritter as it was dry and burned on one side. ☹️ I love apple fritters and was looking forward to it eating this one, however I had to settle for picking pieces off the top and throwing the rest away because it was burned. Maybe next time, maybe. 😕

Tasty fresh donuts with a number of unique offerings, such as croissant donuts, breakfast donuts, large holiday-themed donuts, and vegan donuts. The regular glazed donut and chocolate sprinkles donut were great. I also tried the chive breakfast donut stuffed with cream cheese, which tasted like a mix between a donut and a bagel and is a nice option for those who prefer savory to sweet. This place is a second location to the SF original. The interior is casual with a fun wall of donut-themed art. It seems quite popular; I came at 12:30pm on a Sunday and there was a steady stream of customers for the ~20min I was there. For the adventurous eaters, they offer a Big Donut Challenge, where you can get on their Hall of Fame if you eat 'the big one' in 2min or less.
